With the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games now concluded and Rio having closed its period of hosting Mega Sporting Events, there arises the question of the legacy of such events.
The evidence gathered by Amnesty International and Terre des Hommes during the Games highlight the devastating legacy of the Games on the people and youth of Rio. As medals were awarded, the prospects of the Olympics leaving a brighter future for young people in Rio began to look more and more unlikely.
