The high commissioner recommended a hybrid accountability system on the basis that the local judicial system was too corrupted after over 30 years of conflict.

But the Human Rights Council passed a resolution, with Sri Lanka’s support, calling for a domestic accountability mechanism which was to include foreign judges, lawyers and investigators.

The press conference will be held in presence of Tamil Human Rights activists, Tamil Political leaders and women war witnesses from Northern East of Sri Lanka and around the World.
