The OSCE, Ukraine, Central Asia and the new transnational challenges
Ambassador Lamberto Zannier was appointed OSCE Secretary General on 1 July 2011. Zannier is an Italian career diplomat, and holds a Doctorate in International Law (University of Trieste, 1976).
Prior to his appointment as OSCE Secretary General, Zannier served as Director of the organization’s Conflict Prevention Centre in 2002 and as United Nations Special Representative for Kosovo and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) from June 2008 to June 2011.
