On 2-3 June 2026, Spain hosted the 5th Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy in Madrid, aimed at strengthening women’s rights and advancing gender equality. Women and children account for 80% of conflict victims, yet relatively few women take part in peace negotiations. Why is this the case? At the same time, women are increasingly holding leadership positions within international organizations, often for the first time. How can this progress be sustained and further strengthened?
