As a side event of the 39th session of UN Committee on Migrant Workers (CMW), which is taking place in Geneva from December 2nd to December 13th, the Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) invites the medias, the experts, the human rights actors and the public to a conference intitled « Migration and Asylum Experiences in Arab Countries: Challenges, Opportunities and Lessons Learned ».
The MENA region has became the main region in the numbers of Refugees, IDPs and Irregular Migration. The AOHR is active to monitor, analyse and recommend durable solutions to the Governments across the region to seek new policies, legislation and practical measures which would contribute to protection of human rights in various sectors of work.
The AOHR is pleased to meet human rights actors and medias to raise awareness and present its approaches and recommendations towards a proper future.
The Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) is an international NGO established in December 1983 to promote the respect and protection for Human Rights across the Middle East and North Africa. The AOHR as the main human rights entity in the Arab countries and the Middle East and North Africa region has been very active in addressing the situation of Refugees and Migration, especially in 16 Arab countries where the AOHR has Branches and Representation.
AOHR has the UN ECOSOC status since 1989, the Observatory status with the African Commission for Human and Peoples’ Rights since 1989, the Observatory status with the Arab League’s Permanent Human Rights Committee since 1999, the Executive Relation status with UNESCO since 2003 and a Member of the International Criminal Court’s Bar Association.
