First secretary in the Permanent Mission of Kyrgyzstan, to the United Nations

H.E. Mrs. Roza Otunbayeva will share her experience of leading the nation forward as the President of Kyrgyzstan in the wake of the ouster of the authoritarian regime of K.Bakiyev by a popular revolt on 7 April 2010.
Mrs. Otunbayeva will talk about how, as the first female head of state in Central Asia with predominantly Muslim societies, she managed a complex political transition to development of a democratic governance in Kyrgyzstan. She will also touch on important outcomes of political transformation like the adoption of the new Constitution, birth of the first parliamentary republic in Central Asia, democratic election of country’s multiparty legislature, setting a precedent for Central Asia of the democratic transfer of power to the President-elect, et al.
“Reasons to invest in Kyrgyzstan”: Mr. Kuban Kabaev will give an overview of the latest developments in Kyrgyzstan’s economy and brief on main pillars of a new economic policy of the Government directed at rapid attainment of sustainable economic growth. He will present arguments as to why it has become attractive to invest in Kyrgyzstan after April 2010 revolution.
Mr. Kabaev is responsible for promotion of economic diplomacy in bilateral and multilateral cooperation in Switzerland.
