H.E. Mr. Aidarbekov was named Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in October 2018. Previously, he served as Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Head of International relations and protocol Department at the Administration of the Parliament. M. Aidarbekov started his diplomatic career in the CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was then posted to Uzbekistan from 2005 to 2008 before heading the multilateral cooperation division of the CIS Department of the Ministry. Counsellor in Turkmenistan (2008-2010), he was appointed in 2011 to serve as Expert in the External relations and protocol Department, Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Mr. Aidarbekov holds a PhD in Law. He graduated in International relations from the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, and obtained a postgraduate diploma from the Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University named after the First President of Russia B.N.Yeltsin.
