The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) is pleased to invite you to a press conference marking the 30th Anniversary of WAIPA. This milestone celebration will also serve as the official launch of a Decade of Investment for Good, a new global initiative aiming to channel and accelerate foreign direct investment toward inclusive and sustainable growth.
At a time of profound global transformation, the need for a unified and purposeful investment agenda has never been more urgent. WAIPA, born in Geneva in 1995 during the United Nations Trade and Development Conference, now represents 116 member countries and serves as the largest global platform for Investment Promotion Agencies.
WAIPA’s World Investment Conference (WIC 2025) will be held from October 22-24 in Sharjah, in close cooperation with the government of the United Arab Emirates and in synergy with the Sharjah Investment Forum. Last year in Riyadh, World Investment Conference brought together some 6,000 participants from 120 countries and featured 106 speakers as well as over 200 B2B meetings, becoming the largest foreign direct investment gathering in the world.
The press conference will be followed by a cocktail reception, offering an opportunity to engage with international leaders and key figures from the business and diplomatic communities, as well as with authorities from the city and canton of Geneva.
