International Probono Legal Services Association Ltd (IPLSA) is thrilled to announce its first-ever in-person attendance at the Human Rights Council, held at the United Nations Office in Geneva. As a non-governmental organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council since 2022, IPLSA has been actively engaged in advocating for human rights through its participation in international forums.

IPLSA would like to cordially invite you to our press conference where we will share the essence of their statements presented in the human rights conferences and our views on Article 23 legislation in Hong Kong and various human rights concerns in the UK and the USA.

IPLSA will deliver an oral statement to both the Human Rights Council (HRC) and the Human Rights Committee on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) for the 55th HRC and the 140th ICCPR on the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The focus will be on matters concerning Hong Kong and its Laws, aiming to shed light on important legal and human rights concerns in the region.

About the IPLSA

IPLSA is a non-profit organization registered in Hong Kong, founded by Mr. Junius K Y Ho, Senior Partner of K C Ho & Fong in June 2018. Mr Ho is a former President of the Law Society of Hong Kong and currently serves as a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong SAR.

The organization aims to foster a sense of commitment among young lawyers to serve the community through the provision of pro bono legal services. IPLSA also seeks to promote the provision of pro bono legal services among legal practitioners, particularly young lawyers, through regional and global networks. In addition, the organization aims to promote the Rule of Law and legal knowledge to the public in different jurisdictions, and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among legal practitioners from different jurisdictions.

IPLSA’s mission is to launch and administer a pro bono legal services scheme that facilitates cross-jurisdictional professional advice to businesses, NGOs, and individuals using advanced technology. The organization also encourages and engages young lawyers in community service by providing pro bono legal services.
