The theme ‘Healthy teeth for a healthy life’ reflects the significant role oral health plays in health in general, in quality of life and individual self-confidence.

The event will also see the launch of the short film The toothbrush symphony, centrepiece of the World Oral Health Day worldwide campaign.

World Oral Health Day, organized by FDI World Dental Federation, with the support of Listerine (Johnson & Johnson) and Unilever Oral Care, reminds us that healthy teeth, gums and mouth play a crucial role in our ability to work or study without constant, nagging and painful toothache, in our self confidence and in the health of our whole body.

WOHD 2013 also serves as a reminder that oral diseases are among the most common chronic diseases: 90% of the world’s population is at risk from some form of disorder from caries (tooth decay) and periodontal diseases to oral cancer.
