Young Kashmiri researchers from Save Youth Save Future Foundation,a Srinagar based NGO, carried out a research over a period of six years on Unmarked and Unidentified Graves in Kashmir Valley. These graves have long been shrouded in mystery and conjectures. This report offers empirical evidence to counter misinformation and propaganda regarding these graves, tracing their origins to mostly foreign and local terrorists.
The young scholars and volunteers in a thoroughly conducted study examined and documented nearly 4,056 unmarked and unidentified graves across four districts of Kashmir-Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, and Ganderbal. Through empirical evidence and thorough analysis, an effort has been made to bring truth before people in a transparent manner, aimed at achieving peace and societal stability in Kashmir . This report transcends mere statistics; it encapsulates human narratives, provides closure for families, and tackles a significant issue with both sensitivity and precision.
This study clarifies a complex and emotionally charged issue. It highlights the significance of truth in healing wounds and fostering a peaceful future. This report exemplifies the strength of evidence-based research in challenging narratives that promote hatred and division in the society. It serves as a crucial milestone in uncovering the truth on unmarked graves in Kashmir, further substantiating State sponsored terrorism in the region.
The study is a commendable endeavor on account of the young scholars and researchers and their commitment to fostering peace, stability and social empowerment through research, advocacy and community involvement.
