Sudan. An ignored tragedy. A deadly conflict for civilian populations that is rarely talked about. Why such indifference? What is Switzerland’s current role, knowing that we have long been involved in efforts to resolve this conflict?

Three speakers will discuss at the Geneva Press Club what the UN describes as the world’s greatest humanitarian tragedy: the Sudan programme manager for Doctors Without Borders (MSF), who has been monitoring developments in the country for twenty years; the Deputy Head of the Peace and Human Rights Division at the FDFA, who will explain Switzerland’s role in assisting Sudanese civilians; and the UN-accredited correspondent of the Keystone-ATS agency, who followed the special session of the UN Human Rights Council on the human rights situation in El Fasher and its surroundings in Sudan, held on 14 November 2025 in Geneva.
