HRH Prince Ali Al Hussein
FIFA presidential candidate
Events since the last FIFA Congress have erased any doubt that change at FIFA is imperative if it is to become a governing body fit for the 21st Century. HRH Prince Ali Al Hussein, FIFA presidential candidate, will address how he believes this change can be brought about.
Prince Ali has been a consistent voice for change at FIFA. He was the only candidate who challenged FIFA President Sepp Blatter in the May 29 election with Blatter then announcing his decision to resign less than a week later. This decision set in motion plans for another FIFA election on 26 February 2016. His campaign platform is built on his desire to provide credible leadership, with a strong focus on accountability, transparency and good governance. High on Prince Ali’s agenda is also the development of all forms of the game with particular focus on youth and women’s game, both of which are rapidly gaining popularity with audiences globally.
Prince Ali will discuss the policies set out in his manifesto – My Vision for FIFA and Football – including his ideas for restoring FIFA’s credibility and reputation and how FIFA becomes an organisation which serves the game and its member associations. He will also take this opportunity to set out his first year Road Map should he be successful in his campaign for Presidency of FIFA.
