AFGHANISTAN AT THE CROSSROAD: FREEDOM OF THE PRESS AT STAKE
AFGHANISTAN AT THE CROSSROAD: FREEDOM OF THE PRESS AT STAKE
Afghanistan is at the crossroad. Democracy and freedom of the press are threatened. Terrorist groups have killed 17 journalists last year and 7 more this year. The director of the Afghanistan Journalists Center Ahmad Quraishi is in Geneva to receive the PEC annual award for the protection of journalists and will give his testimony. His Excellency Ambassador of Afghanistan to the United Nations Nasir Andisha will analyze the political situation at a critical moment: the United States want to withdraw their troops but negociations with the Talibans are deadlocked.
