Within the 60th Human Rights Council session, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation is hosting a side event on Gaza and the challenges of prolonged displacement. The panel will bring together international experts and humanitarian actors to share insights on mental health, psychosocial support, human dignity and humanitarian responses. The aim is to rethink humanitarian action, strengthen advocacy, and place affected populations at the center of solutions.

For nearly two years, Gaza has faced one of the gravest humanitarian crises in modern times. Ongoing military aggression, siege, and large-scale destruction of infrastructure have displaced over 1.5 million people. Families are forced to live in overcrowded tents under inhumane conditions, lacking access to clean water, sanitation, food, healthcare, and education.

Purpose of the Event

This side event seeks to:
 – Present the humanitarian situation of displaced families in Gaza.
 – Shares FSH integrated emergency response project (shelter, water, food, and psychosocial support).
 – Highlight urgent gaps in humanitarian assistance.
 – Call upon international actors, donors, and partners to strengthen their support.

Key Themes for Discussion

1. Shelter & Infrastructure: Emergency solutions for displaced families.
 2. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH): Access to safe water and sanitation as a basic right.
 3. Food Security: Combating malnutrition and food insecurity under siege.
 4. Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS): Healing trauma and restoring resilience.
 5. International Responsibility: Mobilizing global solidarity and coordinated responses.
