Senior Manager Climate and Business, WWF Switzerland

The Gold Standard Foundation and WWF Switzerland have the pleasure to present a landmark study that shows how finance directed into greenhouse gas mitigation can also deliver billions of dollars worth of climate adaptation and broader sustainable development.

For the first time, they have undertaken a comprehensive valuation of the outcomes in addition to carbon mitigation delivered by Gold Standard greenhouse gas reduction projects.

As debate around the costs and benefits of strong climate action builds ahead of next year’s crucial climate talks in Paris, strong climate action, designed correctly, represents an impact investment far greater than previously understood and means that it is no longer necessary to choose between climate and broader development outcomes.
