The Right Livelihood Award Foundation honours and supports people who offer solutions to the most urgent challenges of our time—solutions that are already working, not just good ideas. Today, there are 158 Right Livelihood Award Laureates from 65 countries who have been recognised for their outstanding vision and work in the areas of environment, social justice and human rights.

In addition to presenting the annual Right Livelihood Award, widely known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize”, in the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm, the Foundation supports the work of its Laureates, particularly those who may be in danger due to the nature of their activities.

Thanks to the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Right Livelihood Award Foundation has opened earlier this year its Geneva Office, located in the Maison de la Paix. On this occasion, members of the Jury will meet with the press.
