Human Rights in Vietnam

BPSOS will hold a press conference starting at 2:00 pm in Geneva on March 12, 2019 to present the human rights landscape in Vietnam in the context of the UN Human Rights Committee’s third review of Vietnam’s implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

Speakers, including both issue experts and witnesses, will cover five main human rights areas: freedom of religion or belief, torture, prisoners of conscience, statelessness, and women’s rights. Participants will have an opportunity to speak directly to witnesses and victims of religious persecution, torture, and forced renunciation of faith. The event will also feature a photo exhibit and a number of video documentaries.
